Howick Historical Village Trip

Wow! We had a wonderful trip to the Howick Historical Village and had lots of fun learning about the olden days. Thank you to all those parents that came along to help us on the trip.


    


 

We were very lucky to have Sonja (Rylan's Mum) take some beautiful photos of us dressed up in our costumes. Check us out.....we are super cute!

Cooking Time

Last week Room 14 worked hard on reading and writing the letter b and d correctly.
It is common for children to get these 2 letters muddled up at this age as they look very similar.

We looked at 3 ways to help us remember which is the letter b and d:

1.Use our thumbs to make a bed and picture the letters b and d on our thumbs.

2.Say these little rhymes

3. Remember c always comes before d in the alphabet and we always write c (open mouth) 

    and then the stick for the letter d.

Room 14 also celebrated their learning on Friday by cooking some jam tarts in the shapes of the letters b and d. We had lots of fun and Dylan summed up the experience nicely in the middle of cooking his jam tarts..... "I wish we could do this 10,000 times over!"

Junior Splash Day

Wow! What a wonderful time was had by all at the Junior Splash day!
The children had lots of fun going around all the activities and getting splish-splashed.
Mrs Beach was sad she missed the day and wished she could have had a go on the water slide and throwing a sponge at Scott's face! 

I went on the water slide and it was slippery. I went in the swimming pool. By James 

I went on the water race. I bet Tuia on the water race because I was speedy on it. Next I went to the two cup race. I bet a kid and the water was all gone. It was lots of fun. By Leland
